TypeHangul (“we”, “our”, or “the Service”) is a free Korean typing game played in the web browser. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Service. The Service is available worldwide.
TypeHangul does not require an account and does not ask you for personal information. We do not collect names, email addresses, or other personal details through the Service. The only data that may leave your device is an optional global leaderboard submission, described below.
Your personal game progress and settings are stored locally in your own web browser (using your browser’s local storage) and stay on your device.
If your result qualifies for the global leaderboard, you may choose to submit it (submitting is optional — you can skip it). When you submit, only the nickname you type, your score, your survival time, and the band you reached are sent to and stored on our server. We also generate a random, anonymous identifier that is kept in your browser and sent with your submission; it is used solely to keep a single best entry per player and to tell apart identical nicknames. This identifier is not personal information and you can reset it at any time by clearing your browser storage. We also store the two-letter country code that your connection appears to originate from (derived from your IP by our delivery network), used only to show a flag next to your entry — we do not store your IP address or any more precise location. We do not collect or store names, email addresses, IP addresses, or other personal details with leaderboard entries, and submissions outside the global TOP 100 are not retained.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and operational purposes. This data is used only to operate and protect the Service.
The Service is delivered through a content delivery network and displays advertising provided by Google. These third-party providers may process limited technical data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
We use Google AdSense to show ads on the Service. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage other vendors’ advertising cookies at aboutads.info.
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The Service is accessible worldwide. By using it, you understand that your request data may be processed in the countries where our hosting and delivery providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
